HHA Surname Project Successes
Although we have been unable to find the parentage of David Herriott, the immigrant ancestor of our New Jersey Line, the HHA Herriott Surname Project has had numerous successes.
- We have been able to connect several previously unconnected individuals to our New Jersey Herriott line.
- We have been able to identify several distinct groups of Herriotts (various spellings) in Scotland and connect individuals to these grouping, often pointing them to the specific individual (when combining the DNA with documentary evidence).
- We have been able to find the parentage of several slave descendants.
- We provided the information responsible for having the first person ever accepted into the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) based solely on DNA evidence.
